Job Title and Summary

Project Manager - Hydraulics

will join ICE in Tysons Corner, VA, with the possibility of a hybrid work schedule for a self-motivated individual who values independence. The Hydraulics team provides roadway drainage plans, hydraulic analysis, river mechanics investigations, storm sewer design, ditch design, culvert analysis, pond design, energy dissipation design, FEMA analysis, flood control modeling, scour analysis, riverine analysis for multidimensional flow, erosion and sediment control, NPDES permitting, and stormwater management. The Project Manager - Hydraulics will work closely with other Project Managers to complete drainage and hydraulics aspects of traditional design and alternative delivery infrastructure projects, performing hydrologic & hydraulic modeling, scour analysis, highway drainage design, and stormwater management while ensuring compliance with local, State DOT, and DHEC requirements. Responsibilities

Perform drainage design, hydraulic and river mechanics investigations, modeling, designs, and reviews using 1D and 2D hydraulics software on transportation projects, including highway and bridge construction. Review documents and design work for compliance with plans and specifications. Prepare designs to include state stormwater management plan requirements. Mentor EITS in hydrology and hydraulics. Perform hydrology analysis using applicable software as required. Interpret and apply state and federal laws, regulations, and guidelines related to floodplain compliance. Participate in field investigations; some travel may be required. Qualifications

Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with project teams and stakeholders. Experience in hydrology, hydraulics, river mechanics, and bridge scour analysis; coastal or tidal hydraulics knowledge is a plus. Familiarity with FHWA Hydraulic Discipline guidance; experience with software such as MicroStation, ORD-DU, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, TR-20, TR-55, FHWA Hydraulics Toolbox, HY8, or similar tools is desired. Design knowledge and experience with Virginia localities (e.g., Fairfax, Prince William, Loudoun) desirable. A valid Driver's License with a safe driving record; pre-employment screening required. Legal authorization to work in the United States. ICE is a drug-free workplace. Experience and Education

BS in Civil Engineering required; MS preferred. Professional Engineer (PE) license in Virginia required. Minimum of 10 years of experience with large heavy civil infrastructure projects. Advanced knowledge of VDOT Standards, Policies, and Procedures required. Safety

For positions involving field work, OSHA 10 certification is required as a condition of employment. New hires without current certification must complete the training within two (2) weeks of hire. ICE will provide the training and cover associated costs. Work Environment

The position predominantly involves up to 8 hours per day at a computer workstation, with occasional standing and walking. The employee may occasionally lift lightweight office supplies and materials, typically not exceeding 20 pounds. The office environment is indoors with controlled temperatures and minimal exposure to adverse conditions. Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary. The role demands adaptability to interruptions and changes in workflow, and the ability to sit for extended periods. Hours and Schedule

The ICE offices are open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with a discretionary unpaid lunch hour. Work schedules may vary according to the project schedule. This position is approved for hybrid work. Why ICE?
