Overview
Job Summary:
The Low Voltage Project Manager is the overall manager for assigned project(s). The Project Manager ensures that all contracted work is developed, implemented, installed and managed in accordance with the Company's requirements, including safety, quality, management and financial performance requirements. All aspects of the assigned project(s) must be carried out efficiently with respect to staffing, materials management, financial management, customer care and customer delivery goals.
Responsibilities
Recruit, hire, train, manage, supervise, promote, discipline and discharge project related staff as needed; manage all human resource issues per Company policies and procedures.
Provide guidance and mentoring to meet customer and Company goals and objectives.
Manage workload distribution and monitor customer delivery and job installation progress.
Plan for, manage, monitor and maintain project profitability to achieve Company goals.
Review all job cost postings for accuracy and completeness, including preparation of invoices, customer collections and periodic financial reporting to the customer and management.
Manage quality and safety issues on customer work.
Participate in and/or facilitate the bid process; act as Company liaison with customer representatives.
Create, develop and implement account process improvements.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Physical and Mental Requirements: self-motivation, professional demeanor, problem-solving and critical thinking skills; ability to read, write and give oral presentations; ability to interpret blueprints and project documents; willingness to travel within branch/regional territory as needed; ability to learn Company and customer project management systems.
Experience and Education: minimum five (5) years of supervisory or managerial experience; minimum five (5) years in telecommunications or related technical/construction field; High School diploma or GED; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Technical Proficiency: proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project); ability to define a project, create a scope of work, develop tasks and manage to completion; ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
Other Requirements: must be able to secure and maintain a Company sponsored American Express Card.
Trade tools knowledge: punch tool with 110/66 block blade, 6/8 position combo crimp tool, Krone/3M/BIX, butt set, volt-ohmmeter, 4-pair continuity tester and 5-gang punch tool.
