Program Manager of Innovation & Entrepreneurship

Economic Development Partnership of Alabama (EDPA) , you’ll have a front-row seat and an active role in shaping Alabama’s startup landscape. From running Alabama’s top startup competition to curating events that connect founders and investors, you’ll play a key part in making big ideas real across the state.

For nearly 30 years, the Economic Development Partnership of Alabama (EDPA) has been a catalyst for economic growth in the state. As a private, non-profit organization, EDPA partners with state, local, and private entities involved in economic development efforts.
Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role located in Birmingham, AL. The Program Manager will execute multiple initiatives that support entrepreneurial growth and innovation. Tasks include developing and managing programs, liaising with stakeholders, organizing events, conducting market research, providing guidance to startups, and ensuring the effective execution of projects. The Program Manager will report on program progress, outcomes, and impact. The salary range is $55,000-$65,000.
What You'll Do
Run day-to-day operations
for flagship programs like Alabama Launchpad and Investor Connector
Support entrepreneurs
at every touchpoint — onboarding, communications, event logistics, and beyond
Attend — and occasionally run — entrepreneurship events
across Alabama (and sometimes nationally) to represent EDPA, gather insights, and spot opportunities
Grow our mentor network
by identifying and connecting experienced operators and subject-matter experts to founders
Help build digital tools
and educational content that make it easier for entrepreneurs to navigate their journeys
Track outcomes + feedback , using surveys, stakeholder conversations, and data to inform future improvements
Jump in where needed
– EDPA is a collaborative team where everyone contributes across departments when needed
Who You Are
You’ve got
2–4 years of experience
— maybe in startups, consulting, economic development, or another high-paced environment
You love solving problems, building relationships, and making complex things simple
You’re
organized, detail-oriented, and accountable
— with a get-it-done attitude
You’re a great communicator — clear, thoughtful, and confident in writing and in person
You’re curious about the startup world and excited to meet founders, mentors, and investors
You’re energized by mission-driven work and want your role to create real value

Experience with

CRM systems , or
Salesforce
