Summary
The Call Center Medical Representative is responsible for providing professional and compassionate customer service to patients and healthcare providers. This role includes managing incoming and outgoing calls, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, processing referrals, and addressing patient inquiries in compliance with HIPAA and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
Answer and manage high-volume inbound/outbound calls in a courteous and efficient manner.
Schedule medical appointments and coordinate with clinics or providers as needed.
Verify patient demographics and insurance information.
Handle patient inquiries regarding services, billing, and referrals.
Maintain accurate documentation of calls and follow‑ups in the system.
Ensure patient confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
Prior experience in a healthcare call center or medical office setting preferred.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification processes.
Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office.
Job Type: Full‑time
Pay: $10.50 – $11.75 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
