Overview
LHH is partnering with a well-established Tampa law firm to hire a Litigation Paralegal with at least three (3) years of experience in commercial litigation. This is a full-time, on-site position offering the opportunity to work alongside talented attorneys on complex business and commercial matters in both state and federal courts.
Position Summary The Litigation Paralegal plays a key role in supporting attorneys throughout all phases of litigation from case initiation through trial and post-judgment proceedings. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Prepare, review, and proofread legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and trial materials.
Manage and maintain case files using the firm’s document management system.
Track and coordinate case deadlines, hearings, and depositions; maintain attorney calendars.
Handle electronic filing in both Florida State and Federal Courts.
Assist with all aspects of trial preparation, including compiling exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders.
Support discovery efforts by organizing, reviewing, and producing responsive documents.
Manage new matter openings, conflicts checks, and case closings.
Assist with billing processes, including time entry and pre-bill review.
Communicate professionally with clients, attorneys, and team members to ensure timely follow-up and case progression.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum of three (3) years of paralegal experience, with a focus on litigation.
Demonstrated experience with Florida State and Federal court procedures and filings.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with iManage and Aderant preferred.
Strong understanding of litigation procedures, discovery, and trial preparation.
Exceptional organizational, time management, and communication skills.
Ability to manage competing deadlines while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a team-oriented mindset.
Willingness to work overtime as needed.
