Marketing Content Writer Inside Higher Ed

Responsibilities

Develop high‑quality content for news releases, websites, emails, social media, blogs, scripts, publications, and direct mail.

Collaborate with DARCOMM colleagues (Creative, Digital, Communications) to enhance content with appropriate visuals.

Ensure all content follows AP Style, is factually correct, reflects UGA brand, and supports DAR/UGA goals.

Master the UGA brand voice and tone; customize content to channels and meet length requirements.

Interview story subjects, craft persuasive language, review, approve, and share content with internal and external audiences.

Understand timelines, adhere to deadlines, prioritize projects, and maintain effective workflow.

Additional Division Expectations

Interact with fairness, compassion, and decency; promote a stable, productive, healthy work environment.

Adhere to CASE standards and fundraising reporting industry standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent.

At least 1-2 years of experience in marketing, communications, or public relations.

Experience in a role that requires frequent/heavy writing for media, social, web, or print.

Experience with media relations, digital advertising, email marketing, and/or social marketing.

Ability to manage 20+ writing assignments with varying deadlines.

Knowledge of AP Style writing.

Understanding of search engine optimization writing.

Experience with graphic design and/or knowledge of design programs.

Experience with WordPress and web development programs.

Experience in higher education and/or fundraising.

Experience in a public relations or marketing agency.

Experience in project management or developing project timelines.
