Associate Professor of Practice and Concrete Industry Management Program Coordinator
Position: Program Coordinator for the Bachelor’s degree in Concrete Industry Management (CIM) at the Department of Construction and Concrete Industry Management (CCIM), Jerome J. Lohr College of Engineering, South Dakota State University (SDSU). Rank: Associate Professor of Practice.
Location: Brookings, South Dakota. Type: 12‑month, full‑time, benefits‑eligible.
Expected start date: Spring 2026.
Oversees program operations, ensures academic excellence, cultivates industry partnerships, and guides student advancement into concrete industry leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate courses such as concrete materials and testing, estimating, plant management, and concrete methods and systems.
Advise students and support their academic and professional development.
Serve as a liaison to regional concrete industry partners, the CIM National Steering Committee, and other professional organizations.
Lead outreach, recruitment, and promotional activities to enhance program awareness and enrollment.

Minimum Qualifications
Earned graduate degree in Concrete Industry Management, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline.
Minimum of 10 years full‑time experience in the domestic concrete industry, including at least 5 years in technical services or sales in the U.S.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire and willingness to travel as required.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; sponsorship not available.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional licensure and/or concrete‑related certification.
Experience teaching and mentoring undergraduate students at the collegiate level.
More than 10 years of leadership experience in the domestic concrete industry and related professional associations.
