About the Role
A plaintiff-side personal injury litigation firm (motor vehicle accidents, slip & fall / premises liability, construction / labor law, etc.) is seeking a hands-on Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys through all phases of litigation — from intake through trial and resolution. This is an in-office role based in Trenton, NJ, and requires someone comfortable with heavy litigation work: drafting, discovery, trial preparation, witness prep, mediations / settlement conferences, and strong client communication. This position pays $65k–$85k, depending on experience and skillset.
Key Responsibilities
Manage case files from intake through resolution: maintain timelines, deadlines, and court calendars.
Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, discovery requests / responses, affidavits, correspondence, and settlement documents.
Conduct factual and legal research; gather, index, and summarize evidence (medical records, bills, wage records, accident reports).
Prepare discovery and trial exhibits; create and manage exhibit binders and demonstratives for hearings/trial.
Coordinate and prepare witnesses for depositions and trial (scheduling, subpoenas, witness packets, prep sessions).
Support settlement conferences and mediations: prepare mediation briefs, demand packages, settlement summaries, and assist during mediation sessions.
Manage communication with clients, opposing counsel, experts, medical providers, and court personnel; ensure confidentiality and excellent client service.
E-file pleadings, maintain filing logs, and ensure compliance with court rules and filing deadlines.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 1 year
verifiable plaintiff personal injury paralegal experience;
3–7 years preferred .
Litigation / paralegal experience in trial prep, discovery, motions practice, and settlement / mediation processes.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
OR
Paralegal Associate Certification.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage a multi-file caseload with competing deadlines.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel); familiarity with case management or e-filing systems (e.g., TrialWorks, Clio, or similar) is a plus.
Reliable transportation and ability to commute to the Trenton office (within ~45 minutes).
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
Prior plaintiff personal injury experience handling motor vehicle, premises liability, construction / labor law claims.
Experience preparing mediation briefs, settlement demands, and demonstratives for trial.
Experience with medical records review and summarization; litigation support software (eDiscovery, document management).
Bilingual (Spanish) candidates encouraged to apply.
Base pay:
$65,000–$85,000 annually, DOE.
