Job Description
Assists attorneys in preparation for meetings with witnesses, clients, officers, and experts; depositions; hearings; mediation; trial; and client closing.
Drafts correspondence, pleadings, and discovery answers.
Drafts expert witness designations, motions, pre-trial scheduling orders, complaints, subpoenas and subpoenas duces tecum.
Redact medical bills for use at trial.
Schedule all trial-related meetings.
Calculate and calendar court deadlines.
File pleadings in state and federal courts, court of appeals, Virginia Supreme Court.
Manage and audit liens, including liens associated with ERISA, Medicare, Medicaid, and workers compensation.
Work within a case management system.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
5+ years Personal Injury plaintiff experience.
Experience in conducting Intake interviews with new clients.
Experience with liens, including liens associated with ERISA, Medicare, Medicaid, and workers compensation.
Experience with complex, high-volume cases.
Experience with case management system.
Bilingual in Spanish preferable
Physical And Environmental Requirements
General office environment requires sitting for long periods of time, occasional periods of standing and walking.
Visual capability to work viewing a computer monitor for several hours of the day.
The ability to work in an office environment around others.
The ability to exhibit manual dexterity and use standard office equipment such as phones, keyboards, and copiers for extended periods of time.
