Chenega Military, Intelligence & Operations Support (MIOS) offers a remote Records Clerk position where you can enhance your skills and build a career in a rapidly evolving business climate.
Summary Join our team of professionals supporting large‑scale government operations by leveraging cutting‑edge technology. As a Records Clerk, you will download, create, verify image quality, process, and retain shipping (manifest) records in both paper and electronic formats.
Responsibilities
Utilize an official government webpage to download PDFs, evaluate image/scan quality, perform data entry, quality assurance, and submit records into the system.
Record information in logs and automated tracking systems concerning files (add, delete, update, modify, correct tracking records; scan, check‑in, check‑out, transfer, retire, recycle files).
Research information systems and locate files, identify, organize, describe, and label record materials as necessary.
Interfile documents, refile sections, create new file sections physically and in the electronic system, attach barcode labels, scan documents, and create electronic file folders.
Retrieve files and process them for delivery to requestors.
Maintain files: remove duplicate copies, prepare substitute closure forms, replace worn or incorrectly labeled folders, and redistribute files on shelves.
Prepare files for transfer to other units or retirement to the federal records center by labeling, listing, boxing, and processing.
Conduct regular shelf reading and quality‑control inventories of files in paper and electronic formats.
Research SOP and other official materials to initiate workarounds; if not possible, contact industry users to resolve manifest discrepancies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
6+ months of on‑the‑job experience using a computer terminal, a scanner, and electronic document management tools.
Valid driver’s license or temporary license.
Requirement for a background check.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
EPA Records Clerk experience desirable, but not required.
Knowledge of filing procedures and techniques.
Ability to maintain files and apply records policy and filing techniques.
Firm grasp of numeric, alphabetical, and chronological sequencing.
Proficiency in typing.
Ability to work individually and in teams, and interact tactfully with government staff.
Strong written and verbal English proficiency, with ability to read and follow procedures.
Ability to manage multiple priorities calmly and determine relative importance.
Ability to recognize important users of the service and assign priority attention.
