Position is Open Until Filled. Position Summary: The incumbent will assist Roberts Lab Research Professionals, postdocs, and undergraduate students with data collection and cleanup. On a weekly basis, the student will be responsible for driving to research sites and changing sticky traps and bringing them back to the lab. The student will also assist with collection and manual examination of plant material.

Responsibilities

Show up for work as scheduled.

Work up to 40 hours per week during the summer term.

Plant, fertilize, and water plants growing in the greenhouse for purposes of conducting research.

Assist postdoctoral scientists with trap labeling and organization, followed by sampling whiteflies in the field or on sticky cards placed throughout south Georgia.

Assist the graduate student with servicing insect traps in peanut processing and storage facilities located across south Georgia.

Assist the Research Professional with maintaining a clean and safe working environment for the benefit of all lab members.

Washing glassware, weighing out materials, and conducting laboratory assays under supervision.

Assist postdoctoral scientists with data collection in the field to include identification and enumeration of pests and natural enemies of cotton and grain sorghum.

Assist the Research Professional with grain sampling and grain movement.
