Range: $4,267 – $5,446 /month depending on experience Employer-paid participation in Oregon Public Employees Retirement System

Position Summary The City of Fairview is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused individual to join our Administration Department as a Human Resources Assistant. This position provides a variety of administrative and technical support to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the City’s human resources functions and assists with City Recorder duties. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, discretion with confidential information, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

Provide administrative and clerical support for HR programs and the City Recorder’s Office.

Assist with recruitment activities, job postings, and interview scheduling.

Maintain personnel records, files, and HR databases.

Prepare correspondence, reports, and confidential documents.

Assist with employee onboarding, benefits enrollment, and training coordination.

Support employee events and meetings, including safety committee functions.

Respond to employee and public inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures.

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of office procedures, HR principles, recordkeeping, and confidentiality standards.

Skill in organization, multitasking, attention to detail, and effective communication.

Ability to maintain discretion, prioritize work, and provide excellent internal customer service.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Three (3) years of administrative support experience.

Associate’s degree and/or previous HR experience preferred.
