Sentara Albemarle Medical Center is currently hiring an Echocardiographer. $25,000 Sign-on Bonus Available to Qualified Candidates! Overview An Echocardiographer, also known as a cardiac sonographer, specializes in performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations of the heart. These professionals work closely with cardiologists to evaluate heart structures, functions, and blood flow, aiding in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular conditions. Responsibilities include performing two-dimensional echocardiograms, Doppler echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms, and pharmacological stress echocardiograms to evaluate heart and vessel abnormalities related to heart disease and blood flow issues. The technologist completes reports using structured report applications. Education Graduate of an accredited echocardiography program (Associate's or Bachelor's in Cardiovascular Technology) OR a High School Diploma with significant experience, considered in lieu of formal education per IAC Guidelines. Certification/Licensure Adult echocardiography registry (RCCS, RCS, or RDCS) within 12 months of hire. ACLS and BLS certifications must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
