Job Description
LABORATORY TECH We are recruiting for a local laboratory in Reno / Sparks area. This position is responsible for solutions that are analyzed in the laboratory. They dissolve and prepare samples according to industry standard procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare reagents including acid mixtures and dilutions
Monitor equipment condition and performance and conduct routine maintenance as required
Perform acid digestions according to strict standard operating procedures to ensure data consistency for our clients
Follow all safety procedures and proactively identify hazards
The above duties and responsibilities are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Equivalent combination of education and relative work experience required.
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry a plus but not required.
Experience working with acids and fume hoods.
Experience in wet chemical digestion techniques.
Capable and willing to work in a respectful and collaborative professional environment that is focused on delivering for our clients.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Employee is required to crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders
Must be able to lift and carry repetitively up to 50-lbs
Ability to safely perform work using chemicals such as NaCN, H2SO4, and Lime
Physically capable of standing, grasping and performing other types of physical work for extended periods of time.
Be clean shaven where respirator contacts the face
Payrate $20-$22 DOE
