EMDR Licensed Therapist
to join the team at a new mental health primary treatment center in West Palm Beach, Florida. The therapist will provide specialized
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy
to individuals struggling with trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and other mental health disorders. The ideal candidate will integrate EMDR therapy with other evidence-based modalities to deliver comprehensive mental health treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough clinical assessments, including intake evaluations and trauma histories, to determine appropriateness for EMDR therapy. Develop and implement individualized
EMDR treatment plans
tailored to each client’s needs. Utilize
all eight phases
of EMDR therapy to facilitate trauma processing and promote emotional healing. Provide a safe and supportive therapeutic environment for clients undergoing trauma-focused treatment. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, social workers, case managers, and other mental health professionals, to ensure coordinated care. Maintain
accurate and timely clinical documentation
in accordance with facility policies and legal regulations. Offer psychoeducation on trauma, resilience, and coping skills to clients and their families as needed. Stay current with best practices and emerging research in EMDR therapy and trauma treatment. Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and continuing education to enhance professional development. Adhere to ethical guidelines and professional standards set forth by relevant licensing and accrediting bodies.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Master’s or Doctoral degree
in Clinical Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related mental health field. Active state licensure
as a
Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Psychologist (PhD/PsyD)
in Florida. EMDRIA-approved EMDR training and certification
(or working towards certification). Minimum
2 years of clinical experience
in trauma treatment, PTSD, or related mental health disorders. Proficiency in additional
therapeutic modalities
(CBT, DBT, ACT, etc.) is preferred. Experience working in inpatient, outpatient, or residential treatment settings is a plus. Strong interpersonal, communication, and crisis intervention skills. Ability to manage a diverse caseload and adapt therapy approaches to meet individual client needs. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, ethical standards, and compliance with regulatory guidelines.
