Job Overview The Staff Physical Therapist Assistant assumes clinical responsibility in an assigned facility. This professional position primarily provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. Additional administrative duties may be assigned. The PT Assistant must follow state‑specific laws governing the provision of physical therapy in‑home care, adhere to the treatment plan set by the supervising Physical Therapist, and perform only those procedures they are qualified and trained to perform. All changes in the plan of care must be recommended to the supervising Physical Therapist.
Responsibilities
Follow the plan of care, instruct and aid patients in active and passive exercise, muscle re‑education, gait training, functional activities, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training.
Observe, record, and report to the supervising PT, nursing staff, or physician the patient's response to treatment and changes in condition.
Instruct patient, family, caregiver, and other members of the health care team on therapy participation.
Visit patients according to the Plan of Treatment and complete a daily note for each visit.
Participate in developing the Plan of Treatment as needed with communication with the supervising Physical Therapist.
Adhere to Therapy Standards of Practice in the provision of services to all patients.
Report to the Physical Therapist information relating to patient progress, complications, and/or response to treatment.
Assist the Physical Therapist in performing procedures, tests, and complex treatment to ensure safe, effective evaluation and treatment of patients.

Qualifications
Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in the State of Washington.
Ability to take direction from registered therapists and other team members to promote patient treatment and safety.
Ability to work independently with periodic (daily or less) support and direction.
