Registered Nurse Residency - Renal Unit. This is a full-time role (days or nights) for a nurse resident. The program supports newly licensed RNs as they transition to practice in the Renal Unit, including a comprehensive clinical orientation and transition-to-practice curriculum to develop nursing competencies and patient care outcomes. 12-month program supporting new graduates with a structured curriculum and clinical onboarding. Months 1–3: live specialty-track clinical academies led by nurse educators. Months 3–12: monthly education-rich workshops and ongoing professional development. Cohort-based peer support and mentoring from the Nurse Residency Program Coordinator. What Youll Need
Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing. BSN preferred. Registered Nurse licensure from the State of North Carolina Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 1 year of hire for Adult Critical Care, Adult ED Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 1 year of hire for Network ED, Peds ED, PICU and NICU, and other areas per unit guidelines Ability to provide direct and indirect patient care Strong oral and written communication skills Ability to work collaboratively What Youll Do
You will provide nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation), lead assigned team members, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide age/developmentally appropriate care per nursing standards. Provide Comprehensive Patient-Centered Care: address physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs of patients and families. Ensure a Safe and Healing Environment: maintain privacy and uphold professional behavior; promote safe technology and equipment use. Effective Communication: facilitate information sharing within the care continuum. Professional Excellence: engage in a professional practice model, shared governance, and continuous improvement. Patient Advocacy: advocate for patients across care settings. Efficient Care Delivery: coordinate patient care, identify priorities, and enhance outcomes.
