Assistant Professor - Dept. of Computer Science (Warner Robins Campus) The Department of Computer Science at Middle Georgia State University is seeking an Assistant Professor of Computer Science for a 10‑month tenure‑track position. The role involves teaching, scholarship, and service across multiple campuses.

About Us Middle Georgia State University (MGA), a multi‑campus, baccalaureate and graduate degree‑granting public institution, is the most affordable public state university in Georgia. MGA has five campuses – Macon, Cochran, Dublin, Eastman, and Warner Robins – all located in central Georgia – and a fully‑online campus. Its enrollment of 8,400 students is largely comprised of students from most of Georgia's 159 counties. The university has six academic schools, including Georgia's flagship aviation university. The mission is to educate and graduate inspired, lifelong learners whose scholarship and careers enhance the state.

Department Information The Department of Computer Science is dedicated to empowering students with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital world. It offers undergraduate programs such as traditional Computer Science and Applied Artificial Intelligence, blending theoretical foundations with hands‑on learning and real‑world application. Faculty work in cutting‑edge labs and provide research, internship, and industry engagement opportunities.

Job Summary This is a ten‑month tenure‑track position that includes teaching, scholarship, and service. The candidate will teach a variety of CS core and elective courses, including day or evening classes, and will travel between campuses (Cochran, Dublin, Macon, and Warner Robins). Online teaching experience is required. Service to the institution and active research leading to publication in peer‑reviewed journals are also expected.

Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate courses in the CS program, including day and/or evening classes.

Conduct service to the institution.

Engage in active research and scholarly activities, aiming for publication in peer‑reviewed journals.

Required Qualifications Required Educational Qualifications

PhD or equivalent in Computer Science or a related discipline.

Other Required Qualifications

Reasonable record of teaching and scholarship that warrants appointment at the rank of assistant professor.
