Full-time, nights. 10 bed, open-bay unit caring for cardiology and oncology patients awaiting inpatient beds, as well as floor-level patients who have just left the Medical Intensive Care Unit. This is a multi-specialty unit providing care in General Medicine. Position Highlights
Shift Schedule: Full time nights, 7pm-7am, with weekend rotation Department: Multi-Specialty Unit (Med Surg) Location: Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem Sign on Bonus: $15,000, provided the candidate meets eligibility requirements What You’ll Need
Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred Registered Nurse licensure from the State of North Carolina Board of Nursing At least one year of RN experience Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 1 year of hire for Adult Critical Care, Adult ED Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 1 year of hire for Network ED, Peds ED, PICU and NICU, and other areas per unit guidelines Ability to provide direct and indirect patient care Strong interpersonal communication skills Ability to work collaboratively Solid written and oral communication skills Responsibilities
Patient/Family Centered Care: Utilize the nursing process to deliver compassionate care, placing patients and their families at the center of every decision. Conduct thorough assessments, develop nursing diagnoses, identify outcomes, plan interventions, and coordinate care to promote optimal health and well-being in accordance with WFBH policies. Patient Discharge & Referrals: Participates in multidisciplinary discharge planning referrals to hospital and community resources as needed. Safe, Therapeutic, and Healing Environment: Create a secure and healing environment by safeguarding patient privacy and ensuring responsive, respectful, accepting, and professional behavior. Embrace technology and equipment to enhance patient and staff safety. Effective Communication: Demonstrate excellent communication skills to foster collaboration among the healthcare team, facilitating information sharing throughout the continuum of care. Care Management and Clinical Prioritization: Coordinate the effective and efficient delivery of patient care services by applying care management principles.
