Job Summary Performs data entry, initiates inventory control tasks, maintains employee time records, generates reports, and maintains process files for the Laboratory.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Receives waste samples, generates Waste Analysis Report (WAR), assigns and maintains sample tracking and data entry for Laboratory.
Contacts truck driver to pick up paperwork when analytical testing is completed and disposal paperwork is approved, when required.
Generates numerous reports, establishes and maintains section files, logs and records.
Processes time cards and maintains attendance records.
Make and file approval folders.
Assist Approvals personnel in updating profiles in AS‑400 System.
Responsible for inventory control function including researching potential products and vendors, preparing bid packages, initiating requisitions, and ordering supplies, equipment, PPE, chemicals, furniture, printing, etc.
Assists Technicians and Chemist with laboratory procedures, by performing Tech I level parameters.
Maintains housekeeping in work area.
Reference site‑specific procedures and more detailed site‑specific job descriptions.
Performing other duties as assigned.
Works independently, receiving a minimum amount of supervision and guidance on established laboratory procedures. Uses judgment when reviewing paperwork for completeness and accuracy. Must have a working knowledge of department practices and procedures, laboratory and sampling protocol, chemical terminology, and manifesting. Uses database and spreadsheet computer applications.
Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory duties.
Qualifications Education and Experience
Required: High school diploma or GED (accredited), plus one (1) year experience in the waste disposal business with emphasis on waste code utilization. High school chemistry or equivalent laboratory experience preferred.
Preferred: High school diploma or GED (accredited), plus one (1) year experience in the waste disposal business with emphasis on waste code utilization. High school chemistry or equivalent laboratory experience preferred. Data entry skill = 30 WPM.

PPE: Respirators Full face OV/AG or half face with face shield, Full face supplied air in some areas, Suit Appropriate Barrier Suite: Liquid yellow Tyvek with sleeves, apron, booties Solid white tyvek, Gloves appropriate to hazards present PVC over Nitrile or Butyl (Liquid Waste) Leather Work (Solid Waste), Leather/Cloth work (when handling equipment or containers), Overshoes Vinyl Booties Waterproof Boots Chemical Resistant Boots, Safety glasses, Hard Hats, Steel Toed Shoes

Work Environment
Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding, machine operation, etc.) regularly, most of the work day;
Required to exert physical effort in handling objects less than 30 pounds occasionally, rarely;
Required to be exposed to physical occupational risks (such as cuts, burns, exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, etc.) All of work day, part of the work day;
Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements occasionally, rarely;
Normal setting for this job is: Hazardous waste disposal site / laboratory, lab.
