Overview

Position Title: Nurse Interviewer Position Number: 20065447 Vacancy ID: P020567 Location: Charlotte, NC, North Carolina, US Hours: 40 hours/week; Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm (varies/flexible); Evening work occasionally; Weekend work occasionally Be among the first applicants. This role is for the Population Group seeking a full-time Nurse-Interviewer for the Carolina Breast Cancer Study Phase 4 (CBCS4). Duties include in-home visits, obtaining informed consents, conducting research interviews, and completing study-required assessments while adhering to study protocols. The study aims to recruit 3,000 participants selected from Central Cancer Registry cases.

Responsibilities

Travel to participants' homes to conduct in-home interviews and collect specimens as required.

Obtain informed consents and complete study assessments (e.g., measurements, blood draws) according to protocol.

Deliver collected specimens to the UNC Biospecimen Processing Facility (in person or per protocol).

Travel to Chapel Hill weekly to pick up and return study materials.

Assist with cleaning, coding, and entering study data in data management systems.

Collect and track medical records and tumor block releases for cancer studies within the Population Group.

Gather, clean, and enter medical record provider information into data systems.

Identify and share local community resources with study participants and advise on beneficial resources.

Track participants who are lost to contact and coordinate with study coordinators to complete this task.

Requirements and Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience: Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina with two years of experience in the area of specialization.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:

Exceptional organization and time management skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for coordination with study team and participants.

Ability to work independently and in a research team.

Diligent adherence to best practices and regulations related to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with diverse patient populations, large epidemiology or cancer research studies with human subjects, and collecting specimens; proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.

Required Licenses/Certifications: Registered Nurse licensed in North Carolina.

Additional Responsibilities

Be available for evenings and weekends as needed for visits.

Must reside in the greater Charlotte, NC region due to participant distribution.

Must have reliable transportation and ability to travel up to 160 miles to/from Chapel Hill, NC.

Contract and Benefits

Position Type: Permanent Staff (SHRA); Full-Time Permanent

Salary Range: $70,000 – $80,340
