The Advanced Practice Nurse/Physician’s Assistant will assist surgeons with clinic, organize visits, perform clinic procedures, coordinate patient care, and work as an independent care provider within the clinic. They will respond to in-basket, MyChart, and patient questions and collaborate with the physician to facilitate patient care. The APRN/PA will manage care of inpatients and outpatients preop and postoperatively, answer telephone inquiries, and fill prescriptions. The APRN/PA must have expertise to perform assessments/diagnosis/treatment of health issues and the position will require OR first assisting. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: APRN: Master’s Degree in Nursing Licensed Registered Nurse in Arkansas; APRN License Acute Care Certification PA: Physician Assistant Studies PA Licensure Preferred Qualifications: Preferred nursing experience in a surgical setting Prescriptive authority and a DEA license must be obtained after hire Responsibilities: Obtain a relevant health and medical history, perform a comprehensive physician examination, identify health risks and needs, update and record changes in health status, and assess mental and functional status Implement treatment plans, orders, and interpret appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic tests, prescribe medical treatments and medications, and manage health issues in collaboration with designated physician(s) Provide an acceptable plan of care that maximizes the patient’s health potential, including appropriate diagnostic tests and pharmacologic/non-pharmacologic interventions Promote optimal health by including preventive activities and participating in clinical pathway development and quality management Participate in patient care conferences with other health disciplines and department/campus meetings Consult with physicians and other health professionals, follow up on clients by phone, rounds, scheduled visits, and lab results Performs other duties as assigned Salary and Documents
