Summary of Job Duties:
The Advanced Practice Nurse/Physician's Assistant will assist surgeons with clinic, organize visits, and perform clinic procedures, care coordination of patients, and work as an independent care provider within the clinic. They will answer in-basket, MyChart, and patient questions and work in collaboration with the physician to facilitate patient care. The APRN/PA will be responsible for managing the care of inpatients and outpatients preop and postoperatively, answering telephone inquiries, and filling prescriptions. The APRN/PA must have a high level of expertise to perform assessments/diagnosis/treatment of actual/potential problems of patients. This position will require OR first assisting. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: APRN: Master's Degree in Nursing Licensed Registered Nurse in Arkansas; APRN License Acute Care Certification PA: Physician Assistant Studies PA Licensure Preferred Qualifications: Preferred nursing experience in a surgical setting Prescriptive authority and a DEA license must be obtained after hire Responsibilities
Obtains a relevant health and medical history, performs a comprehensive physician examination, identifies health risks and needs, updates and records changes in health status, and assesses mental and functional status Implements treatment plans, orders, and interprets appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic tests, prescribes medical treatments and medications, and manages health issues in collaboration with designated physician(s) Provides an acceptable plan of care that maximizes the patient's health potential and includes appropriate diagnostic tests and pharmacologic/non-pharmacologic interventions Promotes optimal health of the patient by including preventive and health promotion activities into the plan of care and participating in clinical pathway development and quality management activities Participates as a team member in patient care conferences with other health disciplines Consults with physicians and other health professionals when needed; follows up by phone, rounds, scheduled visits, and lab results Performs other duties as assigned Documents and Recruitment
