Basic Requirements

Graduate or higher level degree that included a physical therapy curriculum approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Programs (CAAHEP) or a professional accrediting organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time degree was obtained. Completion of the clinical requirements prescribed by the school. Licensure

Applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physical Therapist from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States; and must have passed the National Physical Therapy Examination administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT). Two (2) years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master’s degree or master’s or equivalent graduate degree. Experience

OR At least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level. To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications to perform successfully the duties of the position, and must typically be in or related to the position to be filled. Some examples of this qualifying experience are: Knowledge of current, evidence-based theories, principles, practices, and procedures applied in providing varying range of physical therapy. Knowledge of the techniques and instrumentation used to collect, organize record and communicate clinical findings relevant to patient examinations, evaluations, diagnosis, prognosis, and outcomes of treatment interventions. Experience in performing diagnostic tests and measurements, interpreting results, planning, implementing and administering treatments utilizing various accepted modalities including therapeutic exercise, massage, and physical agents. Combination of Education and Experience

Have a combination of education and experience. This experience must have equipped you with the qualifications to perform the major duties of this position as described above. If applicable, credit will be given for paid and unpaid experience. To receive proper credit, you must show the actual time (such as the number of hours worked per week) spent in activities.
