Summary As the R&D Lab Supervisor, you will be responsible for testing fulfillment, including assignment of lab technicians and their supervisors, meeting dates for the test schedule, growing the team in their skills and responsibilities in maintaining continuity of operation by leading them in reconfiguring, swapping, repairing, and ensuring test units are operating correctly.
Responsibilities
Ensuring the Testing schedule is met.
Maintaining functionality of all UUT’s.
Reconfiguration, swap, and repair of UUT’s.
Staff, manage, and assign the lab technicians and supervisors such that the lab maintains 24 hour operation.
Training the team in all aspects of test unit operation, maintenance, repair and reconfiguration, recovery, vacuum, and charging.
Ensuring the maintenance, cleanliness, and organization of the test areas and work areas around the chambers.
Ensuring the team follows all safety protocols and SOP’s.
Qualifications/Skills
3-5 yrs management experience preferred
Strong technical aptitude
High level of attention to detail and accuracy
Proficiency using Microsoft Suite and Labsys software
Strong decision making, organizational and analytical problem‑solving skills with the ability to overcome unforeseen obstacles
EPA License
Refrigeration/Brazing
10+ years of HVAC service and repair (Journeyman)
Strong communicator and customer focus
Safety/Physical requirements
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Able to stand on your feet for 8+ hours
Good visual and spatial perception.
Follow established safety policies including, but not limited to, mobile equipment, PPE, emergency response, HAZCOM, first-aid response, etc.
