Job Summary The Department of Neurological Sciences seeks a post‑doctoral research associate to work in the laboratory of Dr. Anna Dunaevsky. The role involves planning, developing, implementing, and conducting research projects focused on neural mechanisms underlying behavioral impairments in neurodevelopmental disorders, such as Fragile X Syndrome. Responsibilities include experimental design, data collection and analysis, and preparation of scholarly products such as peer‑reviewed publications, conference abstracts, grant applications, and progress reports.
Responsibilities Plan, develop, implement, and conduct research projects. Design experiments, collect and analyze data, and prepare scholarly products.
Required Qualifications Ph.D. in an appropriate scientific field (e.g., neuroscience, molecular biology)
Preferred Qualifications
Strong scientific writing and communication skills, with an early track record of published peer‑reviewed articles, exceptional organizational skills, and ability to work as a team member and supervise junior personnel.
Experience with surgical procedures, optogenetics, chemogenetics, fiber photometry, in vivo electrophysiology, multiphoton imaging.
Experience with molecular biology, neuroanatomy, and mouse behavior.
Programming experience in Python, R, MATLAB.
