Position Summary The Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with physician orders and established protocols. This role ensures high‑quality imaging, patient safety, and exceptional care while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Perform ultrasound examinations including abdominal, obstetric, gynecologic, vascular, and other specialty studies as ordered.

Prepare and position patients for procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.

Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring optimal image quality.

Review and analyze images for diagnostic quality before submitting to radiologists.

Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in the imaging system.

Adhere to infection control, safety, and HIPAA compliance standards.

Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

Participate in continuing education and training to maintain certification and stay current with advancements in ultrasound technology.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.

Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) through ARDMS or equivalent.

Minimum 1 year of clinical ultrasound experience preferred.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED required.

Licensed by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).

RDMS RVT preferred.

Breast imaging and ultrasound guided biopsy experience preferred.

Knowledge of safety requirements to provide instructions and to recognize and correct hazardous conditions.

Minimum of 1–2 years of experience required in ultrasound and related testing and quality control in ultrasound.

Multi‑modality experience is a plus.

Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures.

Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.

Excellent communication skills.

Flexibility in scheduling.
