The Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) group within Pharmacokinetics, Dynamics, Metabolism and Bioanalytics (PDMB) in South San Francisco, CA seeks a Co-op Scientist to evaluate ADME properties of therapeutic small molecules, peptides, and proteins and to conduct 3D cell-based assays to triage and enable the prediction of ADME properties of biologics and/or peptides. Responsibilities Contribute to 3D cell-based assays to triage and enable prediction of ADME properties for biologics and/or peptides. Learn PK/PD concepts and be trained in techniques such as flow cytometry, fluorescence imaging, ELISA and UPLC-MS/MS. Analyze, interpret and present data in meetings and collaborate cross-functionally with various teams. Education Candidates must be currently enrolled graduate students pursuing a Master’s or PhD in Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field. Required Experience and Skills Available to work full-time for up to 6 consecutive months beginning in the first half of 2026. More than 1 year of hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture (2D and/or 3D), cryopreservation of cell lines and in vitro cell-based assays. Maintain safety protocols within a BSL-2 laboratory and adhere to Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) regulations. Preferred Experience and Skills Experience with flow cytometry and fluorescence microscopy; FlowJo data analysis is highly preferred. Experience with fluorescence imaging of 2D and/or 3D cell samples. Basic laboratory skills with safety record, including biochemical assays and molecular biology techniques (protein labeling with fluorophores, SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, LC-MS/MS). Strong leadership, communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills; ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment. GPA of 3.0 or higher.
