Respiratory Therapists provide care under physician order and/or direction in compliance with established patient guidelines. Must possess a level of clinical expertise, including but not limited to, an understanding of the adult/pediatric patient’s condition, determine appropriate care, deliver emergency care as needed, and verbalize the indication and rationale for therapy with the attending physician. In depth patient evaluation and interdisciplinary communication Medical Gas and Humidity Therapy Patient Assessment and Monitoring Mechanical Ventilation (Invasive and Non-Invasive) Pharmacology Diagnostic Testing Airway Management Blood Gas Analysis EKG Bedside Pulmonary Function Testing Disease Management Education Qualifications

Education: Graduate of a Respiratory Therapy program Certification: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Licensure: Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in state of Arizona BLS through American Heart Association Unit Specific Requirements

ACLS through American Heart Association – within 6 months of hire or signature of new job description (then continuously maintained) PALS through American Heart Association – within 6 months of hire or signature of new job description (then continuously maintained) Preferences

Completion of COPD Educator Course Adult Asthma Educator Specialist (AE-C) Certification Bachelor’s degree Experience in pulmonary rehab and/or pulmonary function testing NRP S.T.A.B.L.E Advanced Certifications of: ACCS, NPS, AE-C Two years Respiratory experience with at least one year in adult/pediatric critical care
