Float Medical Assistant
plays a vital role in supporting patient care across multiple DOCS locations. This position is scheduled as needed and picks up shifts based on coverage needs, including weekends or evenings if applicable. The ideal float MA brings consistency, adaptability, and high-quality patient care to every clinic they support.
Overview Role: Float Medical Assistant (MA) across multiple DOCS locations. This is a flexible, coverage-based position.
Responsibilities
Provide clinical support across locations, including taking vital signs, monitoring patients, and assisting with procedures as needed.
Perform point-of-care testing, EKGs, phlebotomy, and other diagnostic tests as required.
Assist with minor procedures and ensure infection control and safety protocols are followed.
Manage patient flow and support providers; maintain accurate patient documentation in the EHR (ECW or relevant system).
Coordinate referrals and pre-authorizations; handle inventory and supply restocking.
Collaborate with multiple teams across locations and maintain professionalism under pressure.
Qualifications
Certification: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent preferred.
Experience: 1–3 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred.
Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Basic knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
