AM shift (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM) PM shift (11:00 AM - 7:30 PM) Overview

Dietary aides prepare and serve food based on the nutritional needs of their patients. Performs tasks to ensure the timely preparation and delivery of nutritious, attractive meals and supplements to all residents according to physician’s orders and in compliance with Federal, State and Company Requirements. Maintains a safe and sanitary work environment. Qualifications

A high school diploma with one to two years of experience in food handling, nutritional care, and hospitality service. Dietary aides should have a food handler’s permit. This position requires that the employee is able to read, write, speak and understand the spoken English language to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our patients and visitors at the work site when responding to their medical and physical needs. Must provide verification of TST (tuberculin skin test) as required by state law and in accordance with Company policy. TSTs will be administered at the work site if required. Job Skills

Physical dexterity – able to prepare food, push carts, and carry trays, requiring physical dexterity and the ability to lift, pull, push, and bend as needed. Hygienic practices – able to handle food safely; ensure sanitation procedures and hygiene rules are followed (e.g., frequent hand washing, clean appearance). Time management – adhere to strict meal schedules and ensure patients are fed at designated hours, maintaining a schedule for food preparation and serving. Food handling experience – follow directions and recipes using appropriate tools and utensils; understand relevant regulations. Friendly demeanor – interact with guests and patients to create a positive experience and maintain a professional relationship. Responsibilities/Accountabilities

Puts customer service first and ensures residents/patients and families receive high-quality service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere while maintaining confidentiality. Abides by the established schedule for assigned facilities. Prepare and serve food based on the nutritional needs of patients. Inspect food trays to ensure patients are receiving the correct meals and that meals align with prescribed diets. Follow recipes, prepare and cook food in a clean and sanitary manner. Keep kitchen and dining areas clean; wipe surfaces and sanitize as necessary. Dispose of food waste properly and prevent contamination of plates and utensils. Maintain inventory and ensure necessary ingredients are in stock; track what is in the kitchen and what needs replenishment. Dispose of expired meat or produce. Attend meetings and in-services as required; report problems and needs to the supervisor in a timely manner. Promote teamwork and cooperation with other staff. Perform other duties as requested.
