Clinical Resource RN (One Shift)

Cape Cod Healthcare Rounds on all med-surg patient care areas, assisting as needed and providing expertise, guidance and coaching. Properly utilizes the nursing process in caring for patients by maintaining relevant, accurate and current patient records as evidenced by Nursing PI activities. Provides documentation of assessment of the patient throughout the Hospital admission including physical, psychological, social dimensions and discharge plans. Summarizes assessment data and initiate plan of care with communication of pertinent data to allied patient care providers as evidenced by Nursing PI activities. Participates in identification of the aspects of care for the patient, indicators used to monitor the quality and appropriateness of care, and the evaluation of that care. Adheres to safety, blood/body fluid policies and procedures. Care for patients in all designated areas as deployed by the Nursing Supervisor. Administers and monitors patient responses to all medications. Transports and assists patients in radiology locations. Seeks out less experienced nursing staff and provides mentoring. Assesses personal learning development needs. Maintains documentation of current and ongoing professional development activities. Regularly up-dates knowledge of techniques and regulations appropriate to the age of the patient served. Shows a willingness to participate on Nursing Committees. Demonstrates proficiency in Computerized Nursing Informatics (information systems). Represents hospital in the community and within the hospital by maintaining confidentiality regarding patients and hospital matters and by presenting the hospital in a manner that will best market the services provided. Communicates with Nursing Education to be aware of new initiatives/education. Serves as a resource on new initiatives/education. Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers and co-workers. Performs other work-related duties and activities as assigned or requested his/her immediate supervisor Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing Valid and Current MA RN License required Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) required Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS) required Successful passage of CCHC Pharmacology exam Successful passage of CCHC Basic Arrhythmia Program challenge exam CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) Certification required within 3 month of hire and must maintain certification 3-5 Years of Med/Surg. experience in an acute care facility within the last 2 years required Telemetry experience required BSN preferred Must read, write and communicate in English

Purpose of Position
Delivers patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Directs and guides patient care, teaching and activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing within the realm of Hospital Policy. Maintains and delivers the highest quality customer service standards.
Schedule Details
8 hrs per week, Rot. Days/Eves, 7a-3:30p or 3p-11:30p, E/O weekend, Occ. Holidays
