Overview
MRI Tech – Full-Time, Days – Miami Valley South
Facility: Miami Valley South. Independently performs magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) utilizing proper techniques and administration of contrast. Works under their scope of practice and in accordance with certificate/licensure in the administration of medications, operation of equipment, and venipuncture. May have on-call responsibilities based on departmental needs.
Responsibilities
Independently perform MRI procedures using appropriate techniques and contrast administration.
Coordinate patient flow and supervise MRI scanner activities, including MRI safety practices.
Maintain equipment in good working condition and exercise professional judgment in duties.
May perform procedures in other imaging modalities based on departmental needs.
Education & Licensure
Minimum Education: Associate degree
Type of degree: Allied Health
Area of study: Medical Imaging Sciences, to include additional MRI physics
Coursework or completion within 6 months of hire
CPR Certification required
MRI registry preferred
ODH licensure preferred
ARRT RT (R) registry or ARMRIT registry required
Experience & Skills
Minimum: No prior job-related work experience
Preferred: One year MRI experience
Knowledge of: Cross-sectional anatomy; ACR MRI Safe Practice Guidelines
Proficient in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Radiology Information System (RIS) / image storage
Knowledge of advanced MRI computer applications
