Independently performs magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) utilizing proper techniques and administration of contrast media. Works under their scope of practice and in accordance with certificate/licensure in the administration of medications, operation of equipment, and venipuncture. Coordinates patient flow and the activities of the MRI scanner including MRI safe practices. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of his/her duties in order to maintain equipment in good working condition. May perform procedures in other imaging modalities based on departmental needs. May have on call responsibilities. SIGN ON BONUS $25K!! Job Title: MRI Tech Unit: Medical Imaging Shift: Full Time-Days Facility: Upper Valley Medical Center General Summary/Responsibilities:

Education Minimum Level of Education Required: Diploma Program Additional Requirements Type of degree: Allied Health Area of study or major: Medical Imaging Sciences to include additional MRI physics coursework or completed within 6 months of hire Preferred educational qualifications: Associate degree, graduate of an accredited program or currently enrolled in a multi-modality program with board certification in MRI. Licensure/Certification/Registration CPR Certification required within 30 days of hire MRI registry preferred ODH licensure preferred ARRT RT (R) registry or ARMRIT registry required Experience Minimum Level of Experience Required: No prior job-related work experience Preferred experience: One year MRI experience preferred Knowledge/Skills Cross-sectional anatomy American College of Radiology (ACR) MRI Safe Practice Guidelines Proficient in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Proficient in Radiology Information System (RIS) and Image Storage Knowledge of advanced MRI computer applications Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

Works in a strong magnetic field Must not have any contraindications to MRI environment Must be able to push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds May be exposed to loud noises May be exposed to aggressive, violent behaviors from patients, family members, and/or visitors May be exposed to blood and body fluids, including those with tuberculosis, HIV, hepatitis, or body infestations Essential Duties & Functions

Performs MRI procedures of diagnostic quality as ordered by the referring physician and/or radiologist on patients of all ages according to established protocols and evaluates MRI studies for technical image quality. Obtains clinical history and data for correlation with the MRI procedure. Implements screening and safety measures in accordance with prescribed MRI safety standards. Prepares and administers contrast media to the patient according to policy. Practices sterile techniques. Assists Radiologist in special procedures and in performing medical treatment during emergency situations. Coordinates patient care with other areas in order to optimize patient time and satisfaction Assesses learning needs and educates patients/families regarding procedures based on individual needs. Ensures that all records, files and reports are properly recorded as required, performs clerical duties when necessary, verifies a signed physician order is received and corresponds with the billed procedure. Maintains knowledge of the locations and operation of all emergency equipment in the unit.
