Job Description:
Under supervision, perform engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks as assigned according to Client and general industry engineering standards.
Support senior engineers in preparation of plans, designs, computation methods, and reporting.
Responsibly manage a project or part of a project of limited complexity; may manage multiple projects.
Collaborate with internal engineering/business support disciplines and external suppliers.
Provide guidance/mentorship to entry‑level engineers, designers, or technicians.
Maintain effective communication with suppliers, internal and external customers regarding technical issues.
Enforce proper use of engineering criteria and drawing standards; ensure technical issues comply with company policies and procedures.
Evaluate designs for performance, safety, and reliability.
Prepare layouts, drawings, specifications, and bills of material.
Perform engineering analysis to support selection of parts, components, and materials.
Provide technical assistance for production support.
Analyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering; communicate status verbally or in writing.
Prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports, and presentations.
Create and maintain project documentation.
Utilize analytical and mathematical approaches to model system performance and optimize designs.
Other duties as assigned.
Regular attendance required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Accredited Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
Three (3) or more years of related experience.
Standout Qualifications:
Mechanical Engineering degree.
Mechanical knowledge of automotive or heavy‑vehicle equipment and related systems.
Experience with a high‑level CAD system.
Core Competencies:
Internal and external contacts, communication skills, decision‑making, problem solving, supervisory/managerial ability.
Working Conditions:
Physical demands: standing, walking, sitting, reaching, hearing, speaking, visual, typing; occasional driving.
Non‑physical demands: analysis, reasoning, communication, math, reading, sustained mental activity.
Environmental demands: work alone, frequent task changes, high volume public contact.
Work schedule: routine shift hours; occasional overtime, weekends, shift rotation.
