Overview
Sr. Mechanical Engineer for a consulting assignment with one of our premier clients in Oshkosh, WI. The Engineer – Mechanical designs functional, reliable and cost effective heavy duty vehicle components. Perform engineering analysis and design or re-design, and development of components into existing and new vehicles. Under close supervision, perform basic engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks as assigned according to client as well as general industry engineering standards and processes. Support senior engineers in the preparation of basic plans, designs, computation methods, and/or reporting. Under close supervision, work on projects of limited complexity in a support role. Collaborate as needed with other engineering or business support disciplines internally as well as suppliers externally. Maintain effective communication with suppliers, internal and external customers, and outside resources concerning technical issues. Enforce the proper use of engineering criteria and drawing standards. Ensure that technical issues are conducted within the framework of company policies and procedures. Evaluate designs for performance, safety, and reliability. Perform and Directs preparation of layouts, drawings, specifications, and bills of material. Perform engineering analysis to support the selection of parts, components, and materials that meet requirements. Provide non-complex technical assistance for production support. Analyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering via verbal or written communication. Prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports, and presentations. Utilize analytical and mathematical approaches to calculate or model system performance and optimize designs. Analyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering and communicate status via verbal or written communication. Other duties as assigned. Regular attendance is required. Responsibilities

Collaborate with internal and external disciplines and suppliers; maintain effective communication on technical issues. Enforce engineering criteria and drawing standards; ensure issues are within company policies and procedures. Evaluate designs for performance, safety and reliability; prepare layouts, drawings, specifications, and bills of material. Support part, component, and material selection through engineering analysis; provide non-complex technical assistance for production support. Analyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering; prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports, and presentations. Model system performance using analytical and mathematical approaches; communicate status in written or verbal form. Perform other duties as assigned; maintain regular attendance. Minimum Qualifications
Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field along with Internship experience or six (6) or more months of related work experience. Standout Qualifications
Accredited Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Mechanical knowledge of automotive or heavy-vehicle equipment and related systems. Experience with a high level CAD system. Core Competencies

Physical Demands: Frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, hearing, talking, visual tasks, typing; occasional driving, fine/dexterity tasks; upper extremity repetitive motion; occasional lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs and pushing/pulling 25 lbs. Non-Physical Demands: Analysis/Reasoning, Communication/Interpretation, Math/Mental Computation, Reading, Sustained Mental Activity, Writing. Environmental Demands: Work Alone, frequent task changes, tedious/exacting work; occasional high volume public contact.
