Responsibilities
Perform thorough daily inspections and maintenance on refrigeration systems, including air conditioners, compressors, evaporators, boilers, and REM evaporative coils, ensuring proper lubrication, coolant levels, airflow, and defrost cycles.
Execute complex repairs and complete overhauls on refrigeration equipment; isolate and service ammonia systems, replace valves and pumps, reset compressors, and calibrate temperature probes and CO2 monitors.
Install, replace, and maintain motors, pumps, switches, safety controls, solenoids, and fuses across refrigeration areas, while managing refrigeration parts inventory and maintaining accurate maintenance records.
Assist with setup, teardown, fabrication, and installation of plant equipment; support major repairs and construction for plant buildings and stationary machinery.
Comply with all facility safety protocols including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space, Respiratory Protection, and Fall Protection; participate in Hazmat training and team activities to ensure a safe work environment.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; two-year degree in a specialized maintenance trade preferred.
2+ years of related refrigeration maintenance experience, including knowledge of boilers and ammonia compressors.
Ability to safely use air-purifying respirators (APR), Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), and obtain Hazmat certification.
Advanced electrical and mechanical maintenance skills; ability to obtain necessary licenses such as boiler and forklift certifications.
Physically capable of lifting up to 90 lbs. and committed to following all company, local, state, and OSHA safety policies and procedures.
