ERM is hiring Field Biologists to conduct surveys and monitoring for large construction projects in Fresno/Tulare, California. This is a full-time (40+ hours/week), limited-term role with a duration of 3 months, with the possibility of extension. Successful candidates must be flexible and responsive to a changing work environment where schedules, site locations, and tasks fluctuate according to project needs. This role requires technical skills as well as strong organizational and communication abilities. Base pay

$35.97/hr - $46.58/hr Responsibilities

Conduct pre-construction surveys across the client’s project area. Work locations are often remote and require the biologist to work independently. Electronic data collection. Handheld and sub-meter accurate GPS data collection. Daily reporting and survey report compilation. Other duties as assigned or required. Compliance with ERM’s safety program. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology or related discipline preferred. Minimum of 2 years of Field Biology experience with vegetation ecology, rare plant identification or botany required. Expertise with Fisher is a plus. Experience with delineation, installation, or maintenance of wildlife exclusion fence, environmentally sensitive areas, no-work buffers, or wildlife exclusion zones a plus. Familiarity with nesting bird survey protocols and/or general bird identification skills a plus. Experience with San Joaquin Kit Fox, California Tiger Salamander or Swainson\'s hawk a plus. Ability to work safely outdoors in variable weather conditions and on challenging terrain. Working knowledge of sub-meter GPS technologies and map interpretation (e.g., NWI, USGS, aerial photography). Strong attention to detail in documentation of work; strong organizational and communication skills. Desire to work in the field for an extended period and maintain a positive attitude. Willingness and ability to travel with overnight stays possible. Flexible availability: willing to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed by the project. Independent problem-solving and decision-making skills. Driver\'s License required: valid driver\'s license and/or ability to operate a company vehicle due to frequent travel to client locations over a large area. Fluency in English and Spanish is highly preferred. Pay transparency

For the Field Biologist position, anticipated annual base pay ranges from $74,825 to $96,901. The position is limited-term, non-exempt. Final pay positioning will be based on factors including education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, location, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business needs. Bonuses may apply in certain contexts. Benefits include paid time off, medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life and disability insurance.
