Overview
RN - Burn Unit - Kings Hwy at Ochsner LSU Health. This role acts as a leader in the provision of patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. Effectively delegates, directs, and assists licensed and ancillary team members. Assumes accountability for quality patient outcomes, exhibits sensitivity to cultural, ethnic and religious diversity in all interactions, and maintains involvement in activities aimed toward the achievement of unit and the department’s strategic goals and objectives. Demonstrates professional responsibility and accountability for the nurse\'s own practice and supports the company\'s philosophy of nursing. Responsibilities
Use the nursing process in the delivery of patient care. Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies for diverse patients, families, and groups. Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources and serve as a leader on the interdisciplinary team. Use data and knowledge to evaluate and promote changes to achieve optimal outcomes. Promote customer satisfaction and staff morale and contribute to the advancement of the nursing profession. Adapt care and communication to respect privacy and patient-specific needs; obtain permissions and tailor explanations of services or procedures. Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Education Required — Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Work Experience Preferred — Bachelor\'s degree in nursing. Required — None. Certifications Required — current RN license in state of practice; current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association. Preferred — Certification in Clinical Specialty Area. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Proficiency with computers/software; effective verbal and written communication; strong organizational and time management skills.
