The RF Power Product Technology Group is responsible for the design and production release of RF Power Transistors, Amplifiers and Modules. We are currently looking for an RF Design Engineer working in our design center located in Mesa, AZ reporting to the Engineering lead. A Design Engineer will be responsible for developing RF Transistors, Pre-Matched and Fully Matched Amplifiers, and Hybrid Modules in GaN technology, from conceptual to production release phases, according to MACOM’s New Product Development procedures. Key Responsibilities

Be responsible for all design activities and related product development activities from kickoff through engineering evaluation and write test and assembly plans and procedures. Follow a formal stage-gate new product introduction process. Execute schematic circuit simulations and EM simulations. Design test circuits for evaluation and production testing. Generate layouts and assembly drawings. Deliver fully characterized prototype samples (RF, thermal). Material procurement for prototypes. Generate design reports, progress reports, test reports, datasheets and bill of materials. Organize design reviews. Cooperate with Project Manager to maintain an up-to-date project plan and schedule. Cooperate with Packaging & Assembly team to ensure compliance to manufacturing design rules and to develop cost effective solutions that lead to high production yields. Coach and mentor more junior engineers. Work with Product Engineering group to transfer the product to production. Job Qualifications

Degree (BS or MS) in Electrical Engineering. 3-5 years of relevant experience. Familiarity with Microwave Power Amplifier design theory and techniques. Non-linear active device modeling experience is a plus. Familiarity with electrical simulation tools such as MWO or ADS. Familiarity with EM simulation tools (such as EM Pro and AXIEM). Familiarity with Thermal simulation tools (such as SYMMIC or other) is a plus. Familiarity with AutoCAD or other layout drawing tool. Familiarity with RF measurement techniques for small-signal and large-signal characterization of amplifiers: bench calibration, S-parameters, 1-tone and 2-tone power sweep measurements, pulsed measurements. Load-Pull experience is a plus. Experience of automation of test setup is a plus. Hands-on board level tuning. Good communication, organization and documentation skills. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build long lasting partnerships. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
