Primary function The Engineering team at Viking Pump Inc., a Unit of IDEX Corporation, is seeking a student Co-Op to work within our Engineering Department, specifically within the Biopharma project group. The student will participate in design/new product development projects to support Growth & Innovation in our Biopharma pumping segment.
Primary duties and responsibilities
Participate on cross-functional & international project teams
Support New Product Development efforts in biopharma segment
Aid in testing and data analysis of new product prototypes
Assist with project research through simulations & documentation
Create and update models and drawings in SolidWorks
Maintain part numbers and Bills of Material in ERP system
Learn additive manufacturing and 3D scanning technology
Aid in Engineering calculations and documentation
Other engineering projects as assigned
Education and/or experience requirements
Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or similar degree of study
Minimum GPA of 3.0 in Major
Other special requirements
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Adaptability/managing change
Self-guided learning
High impact communication
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
Computer skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
CAD training w/SolidWorks experience a plus
Work environment requirement
Ability to move within office and manufacturing complex, write by hand and keyboard, and perform general office functions.
Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use.
General manufacturing, warehouse and office environment.
