Pipeline Welding Inspector (CWI Required) - Temporary, Full Time Intertek, a Nationally Recognized Testing Lab (NRTL) and leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is actively seeking a Pipeline Welding Inspector (CWI/CPWI) Temporary, Full Time to join our Technical Inspection Services team in Austin, TX. Responsibilities

Monitor the execution of welding work in progress to ensure that it complies with the applicable codes, standards, and specific job requirements.

Evaluate completed weldments for compliance with applicable codes, standards, and job requirements.

Perform inspections to applicable procedures and processes.

Conduct audits and surveillance of suppliers and organizations providing materials or services to the project.

Ensure the work performed and associated records are maintained and conform to the requirements of the applicable standards or other contract documents.

Inspection personnel should be familiar with nondestructive examination, fundamentals, techniques, and applicability, including:

Radiographic examination

Liquid penetrant examination

Magnetic Particle examination (Yoke and Prod techniques)

Visual examination

Leak testing/Hydro testing

Ultrasonic thickness measurement

Inspection personnel should also be familiar with destructive testing fundamentals, techniques, and applicability including groove welds, fillet welds, stud welds, and weld ability testing.

Qualifications

Current CWI or CPWI certification is required.

NACE certification is required.

Must be able to walk long distances.

Must be able to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.

Must be able to stand for extended durations.

Must be able to reach in all directions.

Must have good visual acuity with regards to color, depth perception, and field vision.

Must be able to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold temperatures.

Must be alert and able to determine job related hazards and recognize when hazards change.

Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.

Must be able to work well in a team environment and clearly and professionally communicate with other team members.

Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record is required.

Familiar with AWS D1.1 code.

Able to read and interpret construction drawings.

Preferred Qualifications

API 1169 Certification is a plus.
