Position Summary The
Packaging Operator/Technician
is responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting the packaging line to ensure high-quality, efficiently packaged beer. This role plays a key part in the production process—working closely with the brewing and quality teams to uphold Church Street Brewing’s standards of excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and monitor packaging equipment, including canning, bottling, kegging, and labeling machines.
Perform setup, changeovers, and adjustments on packaging lines to maintain production efficiency.
Conduct quality checks to ensure product meets company specifications for fill levels, labeling accuracy, and package integrity.
Perform basic equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and cleaning (CIP/SIP as needed).
Follow safety and sanitation procedures to maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment.
Accurately document production data, downtime, and quality control results.
Assist with inventory management of packaging materials (cans, bottles, labels, kegs, etc.).
Collaborate with team members across brewing, cellaring, and quality departments to ensure smooth production flow.
Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities for process efficiency and waste reduction.
Qualifications Required
High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience in packaging, manufacturing, or production—preferably in a brewery or beverage environment.
Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and stand for extended periods in a production setting.
Basic computer literacy for production reporting and record-keeping.
Preferred
Experience with canning or bottling lines (Wild Goose, CFT, Krones, etc.).
Forklift certification or willingness to obtain.
Understanding of brewery operations, sanitation procedures, and safety protocols.
