Onsite full-time Construction Manager – Mechanical Engineer (CM-ME) at the Sepulveda VA Hospital Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA. This role supports the Electronic Health Records Modernization (EHRM) infrastructure upgrade across the VA Sepulveda Healthcare System. Responsibilities
Review design and construction plans against existing site conditions. Resolve unforeseen site and design conditions/problems and propose cost-effective technical solutions. Conduct inspections and inventories of medical and administrative services structures to identify deficiencies and assess general physical condition. Lead project activities with engineering services, building codes, budgeting, and scheduling to ensure project success. Understand and navigate local state and federal jurisdictions and project requirements. Utilize communication, language, and software skills to monitor, update, and produce work products using computer literacy. Required Skills And Knowledge
Provide cost estimates and take-offs for contract modifications. Determine compliance of workmanship, materials, equipment and installed work with contract requirements and industry standards. Assess project impact on the medical center based on risk assessments affecting patient care. Independently coordinate design projects and staff (architects, engineers, technicians, draftsmen, clerks) and review final contract documents. Knowledge of governmental contracting procedures, principles, guidelines and public law. Survey existing job conditions and determine exact scope, phasing, impact on services and specific design requirements. Provide senior leadership and mentorship. Communication, Language, And Software Skills
Ability to utilize a variety of software programs to monitor, update, and produce work products. Strong interpersonal skills. Education, Certifications, Affiliation
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution; at least 15 years of experience. OSHA 30 Training Completion. Benefits
