Position: Maintenance Mechanic Department Maintenance

Position Summary Maintenance Mechanic will manage and troubleshoot the day‑to‑day maintenance needs of all equipment and machinery. Responsibilities include maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines, using hand tools, power tools, and precision‑measuring and testing instruments.

Key Responsibilities

Manage day‑to‑day maintenance of all equipment and machinery.

Perform maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment using hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments.

Observe mechanical devices in operation and listen to sounds to locate causes of trouble.

Dismantle devices to gain access and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, scissor lifts, forklifts, hand tools, welding, and power tools.

Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools and power tools.

Install special functional and structural parts in devices using hand tools and power tools.

Set up and operate a lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.

Initiate purchase orders for parts and machines.

Minimum Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent.

3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment performing mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and minor electrical work.

Knowledge of electric motors, generators, pumps, pressure systems, water systems, and other equipment found in fastener manufacturing facilities.

Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the building maintenance trades.

Knowledge of the proper use of chemicals and ability to perform routine mechanical or electrical maintenance and care for tools and equipment.

Ability to work from sketches, drawings, and blueprints.

Ability to maintain records regarding material, equipment, and repairs.

Reporting Relationships Will report to the Maintenance Manager.

Working Conditions First shift position. Standing, stooping, bending, squatting, and sitting, walking both inside and outside. Some warm and cold weather conditions depending on seasons. Duties require bending, reaching, kneeling, and standing for extended periods; may require climbing ladders and moving heavy objects.

Position Type Full‑time, 8‑hour shift, Monday to Friday. Overtime expected depending on production needs. Regular attendance is an essential job function.
