Responsibilities
Develop 3D models, assemblies, and detailed 2D drawings using SolidWorks.
Perform FEA simulations in ANSYS for polymer components (static, thermal, and modal).
Support concept-to-production design of polymer products ensuring DFM and quality compliance.
Collaborate with material, tooling, and manufacturing teams to optimize product performance.
Prepare design reports, BOMs, and maintain comprehensive design documentation.
Qualifications
B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
Hands on experience using SolidWorks and ANSYS.
Exposure to polymer or plastic component design (preferably injection‑moulded parts).
Strong understanding of DFM, GD&T, and tolerance analysis.
Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Detailed Responsibilities
3D Modelling and Drafting (SolidWorks)
Create and manage 3D models, assemblies, and detailed 2D drawings.
Apply GD&T, dimensioning, and tolerancing for manufacturing and inspection.
Maintain accurate design data, part numbering, and revision control.
Design Analysis and Validation (ANSYS)
Conduct structural and thermal analysis for part verification.
Evaluate polymer behaviour (creep, stress concentration, anisotropy).
Iterate designs for performance optimization and material efficiency.
Polymer Product Development
Design parts suitable for injection or compression moulding.
Ensure manufacturability and dimensional stability post‑moulding.
Choose suitable polymers (e.g., PEEK, PAEK, engineering plastics) per performance needs.
Design for efficient moulding and tooling simplicity.
Mitigate potential issues like shrinkage, warpage, or weld lines through design or material selection.
Documentation and Reporting
Prepare and maintain drawings, BOMs, analysis reports, and design justification notes.
Generate simulation reports detailing boundary conditions, results, and conclusions.
Maintain clear and traceable design documentation for future reference.
