Overview
Manufacturing Technician Level 2 or 3 – R10205854 at Northrop Grumman, Elkton, Maryland. Northrop Grumman is seeking a Manufacturing Technician Level 2 or 3 to join our team at the Elkton, Maryland location. This role is part of the Northrop Grumman Propulsion Systems and Controls (PS&C) facility, which designs, develops, and produces solid-propellant propulsion and ordnance systems for Government and commercial customers. The facility operates with additional engineering and test facilities in Ronkonkoma, NY and Palm Beach Gardens, FL. The Northrop Grumman Military Internship Program (NG-MIP) is an approved SkillBridge Program under DoD Instruction 1322.29, offering transitioning service members valuable civilian work experience through an internship during the last 6 months of service, for up to 180 days. SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from Northrop Grumman, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as Active-duty service members. Responsibilities
Follow the directions of supervision and lead technicians for the fabrication of rocket motors. Work with chemicals during the processing of rocket motor components. Read and follow written or electronic manufacturing instructions. Collaborate with non-manufacturing personnel to meet build requirements and schedules. Handle hazardous materials safely in accordance with OSHA and company policies. Operate production equipment such as mixers, presses, lathes, scales, hoists, forklift, ovens, autoclaves and computers. Use instruments like verniers, durometers, height gauges and resistance meters. Support multiple manufacturing areas (Ordnance, Casting, Insulation, Final Assembly, Lining) when workload requires extra labor. Position Type and Location

High School Diploma 2–4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment Hands-on manufacturing experience (vs. automation) Ability to multi-task and work on more than one thing at a time Good reading and math skills Exposure to Chemistry and vocational training (woodworking, metalworking or mechanical) Ability to be certified for respirator use; competent to be trained in forklift and hoist operation Ability to work modified shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed; flexible hours to staff production needs Blue print reading fundamentals or aptitude to learn blue print reading U.S. Citizen Basic Qualifications – Manufacturing Technician 3
High School Diploma 4–6 years of experience in a manufacturing environment Hands-on manufacturing experience (vs. automation) Ability to fabricate components out of rubber Ability to organize and plan daily work Ability to multi-task and work on more than one thing at a time Good reading and math skills Exposure to Chemistry and vocational training such as soldering, woodworking, metalworking, or mechanical training Ability to be certified for respirator use; competent to be trained in forklift and hoist operation Ability to work modified shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed; flexible hours to staff production needs Blue print reading fundamentals or aptitude to learn blue print reading U.S. Citizen Salary and Benefits
Primary Level Salary Range: $47,600.00 - $79,400.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $56,600.00 - $94,400.00 The salary ranges are general guidelines. Northrop Grumman considers factors including scope, responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills and market conditions when making base salary offers. Depending on position, overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses may apply.
