Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Commercial Electrical Estimator for a direct hire opportunity in Houston, TX.
Overview of role Overseeing the estimation for commercial electrical projects.
Pay $120-150K
Benefits This position offers benefits including PTO, Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance and yearly profit sharing.
Schedule Mon-Fri 8 am to 5 pm.
Key Responsibilities for Electrical Estimator
Review blueprints, specifications, and project documents to develop accurate electrical cost estimates for commercial construction projects.
Perform detailed quantity take-offs of electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, conduit, wiring, and low-voltage systems.
Prepare labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates in line with project scope and deadlines.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify scope, resolve discrepancies, and ensure alignment on project requirements.
Analyze vendor and subcontractor quotes for accuracy, competitiveness, and compliance with project specifications.
Develop and maintain cost databases, unit pricing, and historical data for estimating accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications for Electrical Estimator
Proven experience (Minimum 5 years) as an Electrical Estimator in commercial construction projects.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and industry standards (NEC, NFPA, etc.).
Proficiency in estimating software (EBM , not required).
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and project specifications.
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Valid electrical license or journeyman/master certification a plus.
