We are seeking a Construction Project Sr Coordinator to serve as the primary coordinator and is responsible for providing leadership and execution of construction projects, under the direction of the Senior Project Manager or Project Engineer.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Serves as the primary contact with the college leadership, vendors, contractors, subcontractors, and managers at various college owned/leased facilities.

Maintains positive relationships with consultants, inspectors, architects, engineers, city/county officials, or other professionals under the direction of team leader/supervisor.

Manages projects and processes ensuring operational goals and objectives are reached.

Ensures compliance with college policies and regulatory rules and statutes.

Position may require oversight of projects at more than one college location.

Plan, schedule, and manage all phases of construction projects.

Coordinates with architects, engineers, subcontractors and vendors.

Develops and manage project budgets, timelines and scope.

Monitors project progress and adjust work as required to meet deadlines.

Ensures compliance with safety standards, building codes and regulations.

Contract negotiations, change orders, and procurement processes.

Conducst site inspections to monitor quality and resolve issues.

Prepares and present project status reports to stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree or higher in Project Management, Construction Safety or related field plus a minimum one-year experience OR equivalent education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the planning and execution of new build and remodel construction projects, within the assigned area of responsibility.

Understands effective and efficient methods to accomplish tasks within the parameters of the organization.

Demonstrates agility when leading college initiatives and when supporting the initiative of others. Ability to formulate objectives and priorities and implement plans in meeting short and long-term objectives.

Proficient in evaluating critical activities in terms of value added, impact, time management, and tasks in a fast-paced, changing environment.

Demonstrates a capacity for understanding the business operations and functions of the organization.

Highly knowledgeable in building/construction trades, disability program parameters, and construction/project management software and tracking methods.

Knowledge of laws and regulations related to the integrity and safety of the project.

May coordinate the work of others, internal and external constituents, vendors, and college work teams.

Maintain collaborative working relationships with department team leader and other college officials.

Demonstrates high competency in project area and is detailed oriented with proven results.

Applies high standards of professionalism and workmanship within the approved college specifications.

Ability to coordinate comprehensive projects simultaneously applying technical knowledge and sound business practices.

Highly skilled in monitoring project work, accounting techniques, budget management and cost estimates.

Will be subject to a criminal background check.
