Job Description: Performs maintenance and repair activities on gas compression and/or process equipment at customer locations, as directed.
Responsibilities
Maintains a safe and well-organized work environment.
Performs most Call Outs (CO) without assistance from a technical expert. Diagnoses and repairs mechanical problems on multiple compressor configurations.
Performs Major Maintenance (MM), overhauls and MOB/DEMOB as part of a team.
Completes and submits required documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Skills and Abilities :
Ability to perform all essential duties.
Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical problems on multiple compressor configurations.
Track record of performing Preventative Maintenance (PM) with minimal guidance and few COs due to PM quality.
Ability to perform Major Maintenance (MM), Overhauls, and MOB/DEMOB as part of a team.
Ability to read, write and speak English (work orders, manuals, etc.).
Strong customer service skills and adherence to health, safety and environmental procedures.
Intermediate computer skills, including engine-specific software (Cat and Waukesha), Internet Explorer and Outlook.
Ability to respond to afterhours requests on a on-call basis.
Knowledge :
Knowledge of gas engines and compressors, electrical systems, panel boards, skid wiring, control systems and end-devices, through training or equivalent experience.
Understanding of Telematics troubleshooting (basic).
Working knowledge of relevant HSE procedures and regulations.
Minimum Education and Certification :
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
Gas or diesel engine and compressor training preferred.
Minimum Experience :
Typically at least 3 years of experience with natural gas engines and compressors, and a working knowledge of production equipment.
Physical Demands (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions)
Must be fit for duty for the task requirements and meet medical requirements for PPE use.
Manual dexterity and ability to reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
Frequent sitting (driving or PC use); frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting with good balance.
Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 110 pounds; occasional lifting of 40 pounds with one hand for short distances.
Occasional crawling, climbing in and around equipment, stairs and ladders; extensive travel; work in inclement weather.
Vision requirements include close, distance, color vision and focus adjustment.
Problem Solving and Impact
Most assignments require problem identification and resolution; analyze data to implement solutions.
Routinely identifies opportunities to improve teamwork, efficiency and quality.
Actions and decisions impact operational and financial results on assigned equipment; accountability for HSE, service quality, and customer satisfaction.
Freedom to Act
Typically follows specific detailed instructions and procedures; supervision and resources are available as needed.
Within defined parameters, selects methods and approaches to meet schedules.
